I was watching the 2004 Olympics and my favorite event (diving) when I decided I wanted a heroine who was an Olympic champion diver. I love water sports, as I had grown up around water and taught swimming and lifeguarded when I was in my teens. It is no coincidence that Cadence is a swimming instructor and lifeguard. I like all the different types of courage the characters show in this book. I hope you do, too.
